Komatsuna is a brassica related to broccoli, turnip, kale etc. Commonly grown commercially in Japan and Taiwan. The name 'komatsuna' means 'greens of Komatsu' in Japanese, a reference to the village of Komatsugawa in Edogawa, Tokyo.
Like most other brassicas, komatsuna is a rich source of sulforaphane as well as being a great source of calcium .
